Counselors’ Corner
April is here and Easter is upon us. It’s the time of year to celebrate Christ’s death and resurrection from the grave. We are all sinners saved by grace and we need to be thankful for the amazing act of good will toward humanity that God did by sending us His Son to die on that cross for us and to take our rightfully deserved punishment for us. When you hide Easter eggs, be sure you hide an empty plastic one to stand for the empty tomb of Jesus. This reminds our kids that Easter is not about bunnies and chocolate, but about a wonderful Savior who lived and died for all of us who believe.
Well this last month has been good to me. My book, A Little Redneck Theology, which was recently published through Create Space has been edited one more time to improve it significantly I hope. I have sold several copies, and have received limited feedback on it, but I trust that God can use it now, such as it is. It’s certainly not going to be on anyone’s best seller list and I’ll count my self blessed if I sell enough to pay my light and water bill every month. It is available for sale on my website bookstore page at http://gofishministries.wordpress.com . I put my heart and soul into this book, and I pray God can use it for His glory, though I know my views on God, the Father are certainly not mainstream. I do believe that God is like a Father to us, but in a spiritual sense. I believe God is Spirit and has both masculine and feminine characteristics, though I don’t believe God is physically male. God says in His Word, “I am not a man that I should lie” and also that God is Spirit. And often God is portrayed as a nurturing mother figure in Scripture. It says that even if a nursing mother forgets her child, that God will not forget His children. And there are others that show how God nurtures and cares for us, like a mother would. Jesus himself said he would love to gather His children like a mother hen gathers her chicks under her wings, so I see many feminine characteristics in God, as well as masculine ones. God is still God, no matter how we see Him, and He is still the Spirit on the throne of my heart, who gives me life and breath and sent the only One who could have lived and died for me, the perfect sinless Christ, who comes from Him.
My website has nearly reached 30, 000 views now, and will have reached that by the end of this month. I am more amazed everyday of what God can do when you put your faith in Him. I have certainly been blessed, and my territory has certainly been enlarged, as I have prayed for many years, more than I ever thought possible. I received a letter from a ministry all the way fromNigeria, this past month. My website is reaching people all over the world, which is such a blessing. I pray that each ministry and person that contacts my website is blessed and that they find something useful worthy of their time and attention on it. I pray that it ministers to them in miraculous ways, as it has already gone farther and done more than I ever imagined it would. God must certainly have His hand on it. I was just recently contacted by one person, who said that I was certainly not a Christian, and that God would judge me for what I am doing eventually. Well, God’s word does say that we will be persecuted in this world, so I guess that’s to be expected. He was right about one thing, that is, God is my judge, and I trust that’s God’s judgment of me will be fair and perfect. He knows my heart even better than I do, and I know how deceptive our own hearts can be. So I will continue to do what I believe God is telling me to do, even at risk of life and reputation, and trust the great and mighty judge of heaven to purify any wrong motives I might have in this work. God’s word says that if we give up anything in this world to serve Him, we will be repaid in this life and in the world to come, but with persecutions. So I know that others may judge me unfairly, but trust God to handle their hearts and mine.
My garden is producing a few peas and I have started planting my tomatoes and onions into the garden now. I’ve started my spring planting now, and have planted tomatoes, onions, potatoes, beans and corn. My established plum trees have finished blooming and have baby plums on them now and the little one I transplanted in the fall are doing well. My fig tree has leafed out now and already has a couple of figs on it. My daffodils and snowdrops finished blooming and my day lilies are sprouting out of the ground too. My azaleas have pretty much finished their blooming and I have some new ones to transplant if they make it. I went to help a friend remove them from her yard and I got what we dug up to try to transplant. We’ll see what happens anyway. I just got three new Russian Blue kittens, though they are rather wild and I’m trying to tame them. My puppies are doing great and getting big now too. I just bought seven baby pullets, so I hope they do well this time. I know how to clip their wings now, but I still may have to cover the area to keep them in at some point. Our Christmas bunnies are doing great and are big now, so I want to get some females to go with the two males we have. If so, we may be eating stewed rabbit and chickens eventually, and not have to worry about all those growth hormones and stuff they put in processed meats now. I hope to eventually be self reliant and not have to depend on groceries stores, which can easily shut down in natural disasters like Katrina. I just finished editing a new book on crisis gardening and survival scavenging, called Living on the Wild Side:Crisis Gardening and Survival Scavenging in the South, which is available at https://www.createspace.com/3829427. Maybe the few tidbits I publish in it may help a few people I hope.
One last thing I wanted to mention is about a dream I had on March 26th. The dream was not real clear, but basically I saw armed guards and armored vehicles taking away all our legally held weapons. They were going door to door removing all weapons from each home. The vehicles were like those Wells Fargo uses. I remember praying to God, “When will this happen?” And I felt in my spirit that it was going to be during the Obama administration. I’m not sure what all this may indicate, but if this does take place sometime during the next few years, that is, if Obama is re-elected or remains in office some other way, I just wanted to warn everyone what I dreamed. We need to make sure we do everything we can to protect our right to keep and bear arms. I have been told also that a new Fema Act that recently passed, will allow Obama to suspend elections in the case of a national emergency, even a man made emergency, like another terrorists attack. He could easily stage something of this magnitude in order to stay in office, if he had enough people behind him, and I believe he does. I pray that we can vote him out of office and that none of this will happen, but it’s not looking good. If I have to vote for a Morman, or Obama, I’m afraid I won’t be able to confidently vote at all or may have to write someone in. I’m watching the primaries as much as I can, and I hope Santorum will remain in the running. If Obama stays in office, God help us all! We’re going to need it! Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. Well that’s all for now. God bless to all and go fish for Jesus!
