What happened to a man in Germany who emailed a photo of his privates to Olympic high jumper Ariane Friedrich? When she’s not training for the Olympics, the 2009 world bronze medal high jump winner just so happens to work as a police officer. Friedrich, 28, posted the man’s name, address and phone number on Facebook. She also pressed charges against the man.
The stalker sent her a photo of his genitals in an email. The 38-year-old man admitted to the court he had harassed Friedrich over the internet and sent her the sexually explicit photo.
“I’ve been offended in the past, sexually harassed and I’ve had a stalker before,” she wrote on the Facebook post. “It’s time to act; it’s time to defend myself. And that’s what I’m doing. No more and no less.”
She may have the bronze medal for high jumping, but she should get a gold for putting the alleged pervert to shame. Her fellow athletes have stood by her the whole time. She should become a spokesperson for victims of sexual abuse with her fame and law enforcement background. Brave woman!
