Silent Screams: A Treatise on Sexual Violence (Kindle Edition)
Diane Langberg said in her book Counseling Survivors of Sexual Abuse, “We who call ourselves Christians blaspheme the name of Christ if we pretend that the evils of the Holocaust or the rape of little girls and boys are less than they truly are.” She had grown up in a secure and healthy home and had been warned as a new counselor not to believe “hysterical” women, who told her of the horrors they had experienced. I’m so glad she chose not to take that ungodly advice. She says that salvation that doesn’t take this kind of evil into account is no salvation at all. I whole heartedly agree with her sentiments. There are still so many today that stick their holy heads in the sand of their blessed Scriptures and ignore all the passages about the evils of this world. They pick and choose the good and pretend as if the evil didn’t exist. Well, as a former victim and now survivor of childhood sexual abuse and domestic violence, they might want to call me one of those “hysterical” women, and as a Christian counselor of other victims, I just want to pull their little holy heads out of the sand and say, look, this is real people in a real evil world.
Don’t be Silent: Stop Domestic Violence is a compilation of Kimberly Hartfield’s writings on Domestic violence. Whether you are a victim or someone advocating for the rights of victims, or a counselor who is interested in working with victims, this book will give you a glimpse of what you can do to help yourself or others out of the cycle of abuse. It is written from a Christian perspective and does not necessarily promote divorce as the ultimate answer to domestic violence, but shows how faith in God can help some women through Domestic violence and save their marriage. A Little Redneck Theology

My husband was a true red-neck Southern Baptist. Since I had met him in the church, he didn’t quite fit the description of an unbeliever, so biblically speaking, I was bound to him forever, or until he died. In our early marriage, he believed that a little pornography spiced up the undefiled marriage bed. He believed in calling every woman he disagreed with, especially me, everything but a child of God. He believed in hitting his wife on occasion to “keep her obedient.” The only time he seemed to believe in calling on God was when he used God’s name to damn everything in creation or whenever I threatened to leave him. He believed in going to the sanctuary on Sunday’s; that is, the ones down by the lakeside, deep in the woods, or in front of the TV for a football game. He believed in attending church with his family only once in a blue moon. He didn’t believe in women in the church speaking behind the pulpit, but he wasn’t particularly fond of men speaking behind the pulpit either. He believed that God is a full-fledge Male God, with like attributes. Yes, he was a true down-home red-neck Southern Baptist. Needless to say, I am not exactly a Southern Baptist any more.
A Little Redneck Theology: A Diary of Verse: A Spiritual Journey of Poetry
A Little Redneck Theology in Verse is a companion volume to A Little Redneck Theology and Other Stuff from a Southern Baptist Ordained Evangelical Female Minister, written by Kimberly M. Hartfield. It is a book of Christian based inspirational verse written during a three year time frame, a record of Kimberly’s spiritual journey, spoken of in the latter title. Many of the poems in this volume are based on Scripture and many have cultural and political inspiration and messages. A Little Redneck Theology in Verse is not a book of ordinary poetry, but poetry that will convict, challenge, and inspire you to greater spiritual growth.

From basic gardening skills to building a log cabin, Kimberly Hartfield gives you a glance at living skills that may be needed in a crisis event, such as long term unemployment, natural disasters, war, etc. After living through Hurricane Katrina, and being virtually unemployed for several years, Kimberly believes it is necessary to be able to provide for our families, even when grocery stores are closed and access to needed items are not being provided by government intervention. Kimberly gives you a basic introduction to and overview of gardening skills, raising rabbits and chickens for meat and eggs, wild food and medicinal plant scavenging, what you might need in an emergency and even how to build an emergency shelter, or a log house if the need should arise. She has had to learn herself how to do many of these things, and would like to share with you what she has learned over the last few years. God has given her the knowledge to survive and as a Christian, she believes that God wants her to share that information with those who might need it at some point and doesn’t want to depend on the government to bail them out when that time comes.
