These boys don’t need punishment, but they do need strong guidance and counseling to be able to deal with whatever they’ve been exposed to.  They need to find out what these boys have been exposed to that would make them commit this crime against another child. They need to find out who exposed these children to the images or acts and put the perpetrator behind bars.  The adult is always responsible for the sexual abuse of a child, being capable of making responsible choices.

Of all the perpetrators of CSA that I know of, all of them were abused themselves at a young age and later became abusers themselves.  But as adults they can and should be held accountable for their actions.  Children who abuse other children, on the other hand, should be given counsel and a chance to overcome their own abuse.  If it is caught early enough, many of them may not become life long pedophiles, but may find healing instead.

“I called and told his father. This isn’t something you sweep under the rug,” she said. Cherry said the elder Pinkney arrived at the home with a gun, ordered his son to strip and marched him outside despite her protests. “He got on his knees and begged, ‘No, Daddy, No,’ and he pulled the trigger,” Cherry said.

Michigan authorities filed a first-degree murder charge Wednesday against Jamar Pinkney Sr. in the shooting death Monday of Jamar Pinkney Jr. in the Detroit enclave of Highland Park. Defense attorney Corbett O’Meara said prosecutors should consider evidence of the father’s state of mind over the sex abuse report. “If something were to happen that would cause a reasonable person to lose control of himself, that is something the prosecution would have to take into account,” O’Meara said outside Highland Park District Court.

This is a sad ending to a sad story.  Although I understand this man’s outrage, he should have reported the abuse and let the authorities handle it.  The boy should have received comprehensive counseling services, since he admitted his actions.  He should have been removed from the home to keep the younger child safe.  The murder of one child does not make up for the abuse of another.  I have felt the outrage over someone molesting my child, so I know how the father must have felt.  But murder is not the answer to child sexual abuse.  Punishment, yes. Jail time, yes. But murder, no.

One month after a raid on the house, authorities are still trying to figure out how the children are related and why they were there. The children ranged in age from 5 months to 11 years. The children were removed after authorities found two 2-year-old children tied to a bed during a January visit to the home, according to a court document. A legally blind, 5-year-old girl was tied to a filthy mattress, and appeared to be in a daze, the document said. One child had a black eye and knocked-out tooth. The adults told investigators they tied the children when they slept or took a nap during the day “for safety,” the document said. An investigator said that none of the adults saw anything wrong with that. Two of the children had what authorities feared was pneumonia and were taken to a children’s hospital. All have since been placed in foster homes, Carter said. The case is still under investigation, and officials are looking into criminal charges.

Cortez was arrested after an 18-year-old young man went to the police station last week because his conscience was bothering him, and reported that he had a sexual relationship with her while he was a student at Roosevelt High School in Los Angeles, where she taught Spanish. During the interview with detectives, another student’s name was mentioned by the first. That student later told detectives that he also had sexual relations with Cortez at her home in Montebello, a suburb of Los Angeles east of downtown, Lopez said. Both youths have since graduated highschool. She is scheduled to appear in court on March 22.

Planned Parenthood has gone far beyond teaching our kids about healthy human sexuality to purposefully exposing them to pornographic images of unhealthy sex practices in order to get impressionable young minds “hooked” on sex and further their efforts to fund their national chain of abortion businesses. American Life League has produced a very informing video any one with kids needs to see to be informed of the Planned Parenthood agenda for their kids.

The video report makes its case with images taken from Planned Parenthood own materials and practices, including the following:

• Photos from Planned Parenthood community events that included penis-shaped lollipops and cupcakes, cakes decorated with frosting vaginas, and vagina costumes.

• An educational children’s book on the “benefits” of masturbation that includes graphic drawings of people masturbating and couples engaged in sexual intercourse.

• A site for teens that encourages masturbation and insists that homosexual and bisexual practices “are perfectly normal.”

• Videos promoting sex with sexual organ-shaped costumes and cartoon characters.

• A high school “Seriously Talking About Responsible Sex,” or “STARS,” program that requires participating students to attend a live “gay pride” parade, which included public displays of nudity and sexual activity.

• Planned Parenthood college activities, including nude posters, a “no pants” party and free sex toys.

I have been very burdened by the words of this younger generation of kids coming up in the world today.  Foul words are everyday language to many of them and they don’t see anything wrong with saying them, no matter who’s around to hear it.  I rarely remember anyone cursing around me as a young child.  In that day, it was still improper for someone to curse around women and children. Today, not only are the men doing this, but women and children are using these kinds of words, too.

James, the follower and brother of Jesus Christ had some pretty strong words himself on this subject and I think we as Christians, need to pay attention to what he has to say to us.  James says in chapter 1 that a person’s religion is meaningless and worthless if they can’t control their tongue.  In chapter 3, he further elaborates on the use of the tongue, saying that it can change the whole course of a person’s life and it is set on fire by Hell.  These are serious words with serious implications.

If we, as Christians, don’t control our mouths, what are we saying to the world around us about our faith?  Are not our claims to be Christian made meaningless, if others around us hear the way we speak, and find it offensive?  People, if we are Christ followers, then these things ought not to be so.  We need to be a light in a world of darkness, not just more darkness in a darker world.  I encourage all who are Christians, including myself, to work on getting control of our tongues, so we can be a godly example to the world around us.  Reading the book of James is a good place to start.

    1 [19-27] So, my dear Christians, let everyone first listen, then answer carefully, and not get angry so fast because a person’s anger doesn’t bring about the goodness of God. Put away everything evil that is unnecessary, and with gentleness, accept the Word growing in you, which is able to save your souls. Do what the Word tells you to do, not just hearing it only, lying to your own selves. If anyone only hears the Word, but doesn’t do it, they’re like someone looking at their face in a glass, who sees them self, and then goes on their way, quickly forgetting what they just saw. But whoever looks into the complete Word of freedom, and lives by it, not being a forgetful hearer, but does what it says, this person will be blessed in what they do. So if anyone among you is religious, but doesn’t control what they say, misleading their own heart, this person’s religion is meaningless. True religion, which is holy to Yahweh God, is to go to those without a parent and the single parents in need, and to keep yourself without fault from the world. 

3 [1-1o] My dear Christians, many of you shouldn’t be leaders, because leaders will be held to a stricter judgment. We all do many things that are wrong. If a person doesn’t offend anyone with their words, they are a complete person, and able also to keep their whole body under control. We put bits in the mouths of horses, so that they’ll obey us; and with it we turn their whole body. And also the ships, which are so big, and are driven by very strong winds, are still turned around with a very small helm, wherever the captain wants it to go. Just the same, the tongue is a very small part of the body, but brags about a great many things. See what a great fire a little spark kindles! And the tongue is like a fire, a world of sin. Just the same, the tongue is the worst of our body parts, because it makes the whole body filthy, and changes the whole course of a person’s life, setting it on fire by Hell. Every kind of creature, bird, snake, and even the things in the sea, can be tamed, and has been tamed by humanity: But no one can tame the tongue. It’s an unruly, evil thing, full of deadly poison. With our tongue we bless the God we come from; and with the same tongue we curse others, who are made in the very likeness of God. Out of the same mouth comes blessing and cursing. My dear Christians, it shouldn’t be this way. 

Someone recommended this child protection training course through Boy Scouts to me. I think it’s an excellent tool and that everyone who can should take it.  It’s a good way to learn to recognize potential abusers and to keep them away from our kids.  All children should be protected from childhood sexual abuse!
