Showers of Blessings
I woke this morning to the rain on the roof
As I wait for Your showers of blessings
I rested in Your grace and didn’t want to move
As I thought about my many testings
How many times did You find nothing but dross?
I wonder if I ever shined like gold
How many things have I counted but loss?
How much of my heart do I still hold?
I hear the pitter-patter on the roof of my heart
Some drops of sorrow and others drops of joy
But from my Savior’s love I’ll never depart
And none of Satan’s wiles can destroy
Though storms may rage till there’s nothing left
And what I see is life’s wreckage and debris
And I know that whatever Satan takes by theft
He must restore seven times back to me
So Lord, don’t let the storm winds my faith…
