Becoming a Proverbs 31 Woman in One Month

Dear Readers,

I hope you have enjoyed reading my articles and hopefully learned something new while at it.  I love to research and write about the things I read and learn about. I began this ministry as a way to reach other victims of sexual and domestic violence as I am a survivor of both. But unfortunately, my work in this ministry doesn’t pay the bills and I am currently unemployed.  I grow a home garden for most of our produce and conserve wherever I can.  I live in an older model mobile home which was actually totaled after Katrina.  The small business administration offered me a nice loan to get a new one of which I couldn’t pay for, so needless to say, I’m still in it.  Well, anyway I’m very grateful we have a roof over our heads, but I’m really having a hard time right now.   I’m so discouraged because I can’t find substantial work and have not been asked to counsel anyone (I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Christian Counseling), and my efforts at Tupperware, Avon, and the like have resulted in nothing to speak of.  I’ve had a few book sales on Kindle now, but still not enough to pay the very basic bills of lights and water.  I am an ordained minister and am trusting God to provide for our needs, but my heart is so discouraged and I’m not sure why God has allowed this situation for so long.  I am certainly not without sin and have repented of known sin and am doing my very best to do God’s will, nevertheless I struggle day to day, just like everyone else.  I home school my two youngest children and work on my paraphrase of the Scriptures as much as time allows. I believe with all my heart that I am doing the will of God in that work.  I work in my garden and clean my Mom’s house and help take care of her needs, as well as teach at our homeschool co-op, so I don’t think laziness is my problem. The only thing I can think of is my lack of experience that would hinder me, but God seems to have closed every door to a job, of which I have applied for many to no avail.  As of yet, I have never received a donation to this ministry from any online reader, since I created this website.  So I would like to ask if you have been helped at all by this website, please consider making a $1 donation via Paypal (on the side bar of this page) just to show your support for my ministry efforts. You’re more than welcome to download any of our free books or Bible paraphrase for your donation, or email me if you’d like one of our many Christian books for sale. If you can’t or don’t feel inclined to give a $1 donation, then I would ask for your prayers regardless.  God bless to all and Go Fish 4 Jesus!

About mamaheartfilled

I am a mother of eight wonderfully challenging children and fourteen grandkids, of whom I am very proud. I am also a bi-vocational ordained evangelical minister, and a Christian Counselor. I received my B.S. degree in 2004, studying primarily in the areas of Psychology, with minors in Religion and English. I received my Masters Degree in 2009 in Psychological Counseling with an emphasis in Christian Counseling. I have endeavored to paraphrase the Bible, both Old and New Testaments. It is my hope that it will be of some use in the great commission of Christ. My ministry is primarily geared toward victims of sexual and domestic violence, including victims of childhood sexual abuse, whether currently or in the past. Since I have personally experienced the healing hand of God in overcoming many of the life issues that Christians may face, I feel qualified and compelled to discuss them in a truthful and open manner, as God’s word tells us that “We shall know the truth and the truth shall set us free.” God has brought me through such diverse tribulations as sexual, physical, and mental abuse, being a victim of a drunk driving accident, spousal pornography addiction, adultery, divorce, remarriage, a very brief, though unjust, incarceration, and having experienced multiple miscarriages and various other trials. I have been asked to leave two Southern Baptist Churches, due to my being a female, ordained as a minister, and fired from a SBC sponsored Christian School (mostly white) for speaking out against racial prejudice in the Family of God. Through God’s merciful forgiveness of my own sins and inadequacies and God’s grace given to me to forgive those who have been a stumbling block to me, I have overcome many of these adversities. God’s word tells us that “All things work together for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to the purposes of God." Since I have this hope, I believe that God has blessed me with the ability to confront and relate these issues to the Christian community around the world. I hope to be able to use my personal experiences as a ministry of God’s grace and in the comforting of the people of God with the truth of God's mercy. I claim II Corinthians 1: 3 & 4 as my calling, which states: “Blessed be God, the Origin of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Origin of mercies, and the God of comfort; who comforts us in all our troubles, that we may be able to comfort those who are in trouble, by the comfort we ourselves have been given by God.” As I have received the gift of God’s healing, I hope to be able to bring the peace beyond understanding to others with the message of God’s mercy and grace. My love for the Sovereign Lord of my life, Jesus Christ, along with my passion for writing has drawn me to explore these commonly experienced crisis issues from the perspective of my own experience in the hope that I may bring an empathetic and compassionate insight to God’s people. I am now a published author and have several books in publication, including my autobiography, "A Little Redneck Theology." The views expressed in my writings are strictly my own insights, acquired from personal experience and diligent study of the related topics and God’s word concerning them. Though I am an ordained minister, my views should not be considered authoritative. I believe that the Christian community’s ultimate authority is the guidance of the human heart by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.

  4. Well, my point was that you don’t know where God wants you to be, It may not be where YOU want to be, but when he shows you, you will know. I wasn’t meaning you needed to be humbled. Just more or less that you may not have a job as a full time counselor, but counselor in other ways. Have you checked the Pine Belt mental health website? They are ALWAYS hiring for counselors at one of the facilities

    • I have applied there several times, as well as every other Hattiesburg facility in my area. There’s just nothing here for me. And I do counsel for my ministry at every opportunity, but I just don’t have any paying jobs. I do clean houses when the opportunity arises, and babysit or eldersit when I find something, but there just hasn’t been anything regular. Just a job here and there. I need something steady that I can physically do and restaurant work on my feet with nuts and bolts in my ankle is just not something I can do. I have to be able to sit every couple of hours or so for a while.

  5. Don’t get discouraged.. That is just the devil working in you. Sometimes you may have to settle for a job that you don’t want to take until you can find the job you want. Maybe God is leading you that direction. Maybe he wants you to work at a restaraunt or something so you can minster to co-workers. I believe that God does provide our needs, but you have to be willing to help yourself first. God may want you to do a free ministry with people you meet while at another job. Good Luck Kim! keep praying!

    • Thanks for the encouragement, but I don’t believe resaurant work is where God wants me. I done that before and I’ve done house cleaning and babysitting, and caring for the elderly, including wiping rears, both old and young. So I don’t think it’s humbling I need. I’ll work in my garden and work on my ministry until God shows me what else to do.
