Press Release: A Little Redneck Theology

A Little Redneck Theology

Press Release:

A Little Redneck Theology and Other Stuff from a Southern Baptist Ordained Evangelical Female Minister is now available for sale at http://gofishministries.wordpress.com. A Little Redneck Theology is not a book for average readers who prefer to stick their heads in the sand and ignore issues like sexual and domestic violence.  The author, Kimberly Hartfield, fromHattiesburg,MS, wrote her book for those women with strong stomachs and brave hearts, who are not afraid to stand up and speak out. Whether you are still a victim or are now victorious, A Little Redneck Theology was written with you in mind, women of indomitable spirits, who persevere and overcome like Deborah, the prophetess in the Bible, along with many other Biblical examples.

God does choose to call and use women like this to accomplish His will when the situation calls for it.  If you are one of those women who are not afraid to step out of the boat of complacency, one of those women who have walked on the waves of adversity, one of those women who have fallen into the depths of depravity, and a woman who has been raised by Jesus Christ in liberty, then God is calling you.

A Little Redneck Theology will hopefully encourage, comfort, and challenge you not to give up when you are in the midst of your storm tossed journey back to the sandy shore of spiritual freedom.  You will walk through the valley of the shadow of death and climb the mountain of rejoicing with Kimberly.  You will feel the flames of hell and see into heavenly realms as she journeys through the pages of her life with openness and honesty.  A Little Redneck Theology is no book for the weak of heart, but it is a book for the spiritually strong woman of faith.

“My husband was a true red-neck Southern Baptist. Since I had met him in the church, he didn’t quite fit the description of an unbeliever, so biblically speaking, I was bound to him forever, or until he died. In our early marriage, he believed that a little pornography spiced up the undefiled marriage bed. He believed in calling every woman he disagreed with, especially me, everything but a child of God. He believed in hitting his wife on occasion to “keep her obedient.” The only time he seemed to believe in calling on God was when he used God’s name to damn everything in creation or whenever I threatened to leave him.

He believed in going to the sanctuary on Sunday’s; that is, the ones down by the lakeside, deep in the woods, or in front of the TV for a football game. He believed in attending church with his family only once in a blue moon. He didn’t believe in women in the church speaking behind the pulpit, but he wasn’t particularly fond of men speaking behind the pulpit either. He believed that God is a full-fledge Male God, with like attributes. Yes, he was a true down-home red-neck Southern Baptist. Needless to say, I am not exactly a Southern Baptist any more.

I am a down-home, Southern Baptist, ordained Evangelical female Minister with a little red-neck theology of my own. I believe that an undefiled marriage bed is one that excludes all others, including those air-brushed beauties reflected on the pages of the latest Playboy magazine. I believe that sometimes a woman has to obey God, rather than man, especially when that man thinks he is god and intends to pound in that fact. I believe it is still disrespectful to curse in front of a lady and her children. I believe in taking the family to church, not just letting them get there on their own. I believe that women, like Deborah in the Old Testament, can lead an army against the heathen, if called by God. I believe that women, like the Proverbs 31 woman in the Old Testament and Lydia, the seller of purple in the New Testament , can have a home life as well as have a business career, if that is what God called them to do. Yes, I even believe that women might have something to say for God, even standing behind a pulpit, if there’s not a man to do the job, or one to do the job right! I believe that God, is a Spirit, with both masculine and feminine attributes and that God calls whom God wills and whoever is willing. And so, I believe I am God-called to minister to women who have been victimized by sexual assault and domestic violence and anyone else who will listen to a woman who thoroughly believes she is God-called.”

A Little Redneck Theology in Verse is a companion volume to A Little Redneck Theology and Other Stuff from a Southern Baptist Ordained Evangelical Female Minister, written by Kimberly M. Hartfield. It is a book of Christian based inspirational verse written during a three year time frame, a record of Kimberly’s spiritual journey, spoken of in the previous title. Many of the poems in this volume are based on Scripture and many have cultural and political inspiration and messages. A Little Redneck Theology in Verse is not a book of ordinary poetry, but poetry that will convict, challenge, and inspire you to greater spiritual growth.

About mamaheartfilled

I am a mother of eight wonderfully challenging children and fourteen grandkids, of whom I am very proud. I am also a bi-vocational ordained evangelical minister, and a Christian Counselor. I received my B.S. degree in 2004, studying primarily in the areas of Psychology, with minors in Religion and English. I received my Masters Degree in 2009 in Psychological Counseling with an emphasis in Christian Counseling. I have endeavored to paraphrase the Bible, both Old and New Testaments. It is my hope that it will be of some use in the great commission of Christ. My ministry is primarily geared toward victims of sexual and domestic violence, including victims of childhood sexual abuse, whether currently or in the past. Since I have personally experienced the healing hand of God in overcoming many of the life issues that Christians may face, I feel qualified and compelled to discuss them in a truthful and open manner, as God’s word tells us that “We shall know the truth and the truth shall set us free.” God has brought me through such diverse tribulations as sexual, physical, and mental abuse, being a victim of a drunk driving accident, spousal pornography addiction, adultery, divorce, remarriage, a very brief, though unjust, incarceration, and having experienced multiple miscarriages and various other trials. I have been asked to leave two Southern Baptist Churches, due to my being a female, ordained as a minister, and fired from a SBC sponsored Christian School (mostly white) for speaking out against racial prejudice in the Family of God. Through God’s merciful forgiveness of my own sins and inadequacies and God’s grace given to me to forgive those who have been a stumbling block to me, I have overcome many of these adversities. God’s word tells us that “All things work together for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to the purposes of God." Since I have this hope, I believe that God has blessed me with the ability to confront and relate these issues to the Christian community around the world. I hope to be able to use my personal experiences as a ministry of God’s grace and in the comforting of the people of God with the truth of God's mercy. I claim II Corinthians 1: 3 & 4 as my calling, which states: “Blessed be God, the Origin of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Origin of mercies, and the God of comfort; who comforts us in all our troubles, that we may be able to comfort those who are in trouble, by the comfort we ourselves have been given by God.” As I have received the gift of God’s healing, I hope to be able to bring the peace beyond understanding to others with the message of God’s mercy and grace. My love for the Sovereign Lord of my life, Jesus Christ, along with my passion for writing has drawn me to explore these commonly experienced crisis issues from the perspective of my own experience in the hope that I may bring an empathetic and compassionate insight to God’s people. I am now a published author and have several books in publication, including my autobiography, "A Little Redneck Theology." The views expressed in my writings are strictly my own insights, acquired from personal experience and diligent study of the related topics and God’s word concerning them. Though I am an ordained minister, my views should not be considered authoritative. I believe that the Christian community’s ultimate authority is the guidance of the human heart by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.
